San Jose Country Club
Established in 1899, the San Jose Country Club is the fourth oldest golf club in Northern California. The course is truly unique to the
Bay Area. Tom Nicoll, a Scottish-born professional and the club’s first head pro, designed it in 1912. John Harbottle, a classic golf course architect
who likened the course to Gleneagles and noted that the course was “A touch of Scotland”, renovated it eighty-eight years later.
Membership:
San Jose Country Club offers a number of membership opportunities to consider. Depending upon how much and where you currently play golf,
in many instances a private membership can be a great value. In some cases even less than playing a local public course!
Proprietary Membership:
This is a great value for a golfing couple or family and can actually cost less each month than playing at a local public course.
Proprietary members have full golf course, clubhouse and pool privileges and are entitled to vote and hold office. They are granted an ownership interest in the Club.
Young Executive:
For a couple, or single player between the ages of 21 and 39, this is the greatest golfing value in the Bay Area. If you are
someone that plays more than twice a month you would save money with this membership. Young Executive members have the same privileges as Proprietary
members with the exception of voting and holding office and are not granted an interest in the Club or its assets.
Social:
This is an excellent value for the occasional golfer, or for someone who wants to participate in the social aspects of private club membership. Social members are
an important and vital part of San Jose Country Club’s social network. Social members may choose from two categories of Social membership, depending on your individual family needs.
As a member of San Jose Country Club, you will have access to a myriad of golfing, banquet and social events. There are tournaments throughout the year for all levels of
golfers, including couples events and junior golf plus social events for the entire family.
